Local Bands to Play at Club 41 for Valour Place
Four great local bands are going to rock Club 41 Saturday night to raise funds for Valour Place.
Bert Bertin is a Canadian Armed Forces veteran and member of Sound Barrier, one of the bands that will be performing. He recently stayed at Valour Place while visiting Edmonton for a medical appointment and was motivated to organize the fundraising event.
Valour Place provides a place to stay at no cost for defence team members, veterans and their families when they need to stay in Edmonton for medical reasons. A lot of their guests are from Cold Lake.
“It’s free, it’s a great place for us,” Bertin said. “They rely on donations, so I told them I’d do a fundraiser for them.”
Saturday’s event starts with a barbecue at 4:00 pm. The music starts at 6:00 pm with Main Street, Few Folks, Mumbo Jumbo and Sound Barrier on the card.
Food and admission are by donation.
